2024 OHL Cup Gatorade All-Star Team
Six players have been named to the 2024 Gatorade OHL Cup All-Star Team, a selection of the annual showcase’s top performers as chosen by OHL Central Scouting.
Here’s a look at this year’s Gatorade OHL Cup All-Star Team:
Forward – Ethan Belchetz (Oakville Rangers)
7 GP, 5G, 6A, 11 PTS.
Also named 2024 OHL Cup MVP, 6-foot-5, 230Ib. winger Ethan Belchetz recorded a point in six of seven Oakville contests, helping lead the Rangers to OHL Cup glory. Belchetz registered a pair of three point performances, coming against Sun County and North York.
Forward – Colin Fitzgerald (Peterborough Petes)
6 GP, 8G, 5A, 13 PTS.
Fitzgerald finished tied for the tournament lead in scoring and paced all players with a plus-12 rating. The 6-foot-2 centreman put together four different multi-point games, headlined by a four-goal effort in Peterborough’s 6-3 win over London. He played a big part in Peterborough’s tournament success, tying the game late against Ottawa Myers Automotive on Mar. 26th before setting up teammate Matt Souter for the overtime-winner.
Forward – Brady Smith (North York Rangers)
6 GP, 10 G, 2A, 12 PTS.
The tournament’s leading goal-scorer, Brady Smith’s 10 tallies are the most by a player at the OHL Cup since Michael Misa’s 10 in 2022. Smith scored in all six games he played, potting two goals in his first four outings. Smith started the OHL Cup with an overtime-winner against the Oshawa Generals and provided the deciding goal in North York’s win over Huron-Perth.
Defence – Callum Croskery (Oakville Rangers)
7 GP, 1G, 6A, 7 PTS.
Callum Croskery’s reliable two-way play paved the way to an Oakville Rangers OHL Cup title as he picked up seven points along the way, including an assist in the Championship Final. Croskery logged a pair of multi-point games and scored his lone marker in the round robin against Vaughan.
Defence – Zach Nyman (Vaughan Kings)
7 GP, 2G, 5A, 7 PTS.
Zach Nyman finished tied for the tournament lead in scoring among defencemen, finishing with seven points in as many games. Nyman logged points in five of his seven contests, with a pair of one goal, one assist performances.
Goaltender – Jake Ceranic (Oakville Rangers)
4 GP, 3-1, 1.97 GAA, .935 SV%
Jake Ceranic made some big stops in Oakville’s Championship Final win over Vaughan, backstopping the Rangers to victory despite their being outshot 25-9. In addition to the win over Vaughan, Ceranic picked up W’s against Sun County and Barrie.
