Generals await fate, defeat Thunder Bay in 4-1 contest
In their final Round Robin matchup, the Oshawa Generals secured a 4-1 victory over the Thunder Bay Kings, now eagerly anticipating the outcome that will seal their ticket to the Quarter-Finals.
The win showcased impressive offence, with contributions from Joey Longo (1), Logan Bennett (1), and Layne Gallacher (2), while Jeremiah D’Ornellas (2) registered a two-point performance, notching a goal and an assist.
“It was a good game to finish off the Round Robin. This experience has been amazing so far and we’re hoping that we’ve done enough to make it to the Quarter-Finals. The team is having a really good time, it’s been lots of fun,” said Gallacher.
Gallacher was awarded Player of the Game honors for Oshawa, while Mitch Smith (3) earned the recognition for Thunder Bay, scoring the Kings’ lone marker.
Concluding Round Robin action with a 3-1 record, the Generals now await the outcome of a 7:15 pm clash between the Upper Canada Cyclones and the North York Rangers to determine their fate. Led offensively by Smith (3-1-4), the Kings close out the tournament with an 0-4 record.
