Generals honour long-time Athletic and Equipment Manager Bryan Boyes
The Oshawa Generals paid tribute to one of the OHL’s longest serving member team staff members prior to puck drop against the Peterborough Petes on Friday.
Generals head athletic and equipment manager Bryan Boyes worked his 2,500th career OHL contest, continuing a decorated career that began back in 1976 as a stick boy with the Gennies.
Boyes became Oshawa’s head athletic trainer in 1982. Throughout his time in the league, Boyes has won a total of five World Junior gold medals with Canada’s National Junior Team, brought home bronze from the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, and has also worked a World Hockey Championship in Germany.
Generals owner Rocco Tullio was on hand to present Boyes with a framed jersey commemorating his 2,500-game achievement while long-time Peterborough Petes head trainer and equipment manager Brian Miller delivered a milestone award to Boyes at centre ice.
