OHL Mourns the Loss of Bill Devorski

The Ontario Hockey League is deeply saddened by the loss of Bill Devorski who passed away peacefully on Wednesday after a battle with cancer at the age of 85.
With a passion for hockey, Bill was one of seven founding members of the Guelph Hockey Referees Association, serving in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) for 35 years, inducted to both the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame and University of Guelph Gryphons Hall of Fame.
He served as a mentor for many young officials including his sons Paul and Greg who both went on to work in the National Hockey League. His grandson Ryan Wilson is also a former OHL linesman, while grandson Ben Wilson is currently officiating in his eighth OHL season.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 27th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Gilbert McIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 28, 10:30am at The Basilica of Our Lady. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Church of Our Lady Building Fund or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
