First round pick Aidan Dudas scored the lone shootout marker to boost the Owen Sound Attack over visiting Barrie 5-4. The Attack jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Petrus Palmu, Kevin Hancock and Markus Phillips before Barrie’s Cameron Lizotte and Attack defenceman Jacob Friend exchanged markers to put Owen Sound’s lead at 4-1. A pair of goals from Colts newcomer Kyle Heitzner along with a marker from blueliner Tom Hedberg knotted the score at four, setting the stage for Dudas’ winner in the fifth round of the shootout. Owen Sound outshot Barrie 31-19 in the win.

Frontenacs first round pick Nathan Dunkley continued his solid preseason, finding the back of the net early in the third for the eventual winner in a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa 67’s. Zack Dorval, Nathan Billitier and Warren Foegele also scored for Kingston in the road win while Ottawa goals came from Austen Keating, Sasha Chmelevski and Drake Rymsha. Frontenacs rookie Mario Peccia made 24 saves in goal to record the win.

The Sudbury Wolves defeated the northern rival North Bay Battalion in comeback fashion on Sunday as Liam Dunda and Owen Lane potted third period goals in a 3-2 victory. Kyle Capobianco opened the scoring for the Wolves before North Bay replied with markers from first round selection Adam McMaster and third-year winger Daniil Vertiy. Sudbury outshot North Bay 43-22 in the win as Troops rookie netminder Mat Woroniuk turned aside 40 shots in the loss.GAME CENTRE
OSHAWA 6 PETERBOROUGH 4
A four-goal third period from the Peterborough Petes made things interesting, but the Oshawa Generals used a four point performance from Mitchell Vande Sompel to take a 6-4 win on the road. Vande Sompel had two goals and two assists while Eric Henderson netted a hat-trick and Latvian rookie Renars Krastenbergs also found the twine. Peterborough’s Logan DeNoble scored twice in the loss while Matthew Timms and Matyas Svoboda were also in on the scoring. Oshawa outshot Peterborough 52-23 in the win, going 3-for-7 on the man advantage.

The Soo Greyhounds notched their second win of the weekend over the Saginaw Spirit as New Jersey Devils prospect Blake Speers led the way with a pair of goals. Big winger Tim Gettinger recorded a goal and an assist while Liam Hawel, Barrett Hayton and Jack Kopacka had goals. The Spirit had contributions from Mitchell Stephens who led the way with a goal and two assists while Hayden Hodgson and Tye Felhaber each recorded a goal and a helper. Greyhounds rookie goaltender Matthew Villalta made 31 saves in the win.

Kitchener Rangers rookie Eric Guest earned first star honours with three assists as the blueshirts rolled to a 5-1 win over the visiting Mississauga Steelheads. Defencemen Connor Hall and Dylan Di Perna each got in on the offence with a goal and an assist each while rookie Cedric Schiemenz also tallied one and one. Dawson Carty was stellar in goal, turning aside 31 shots as Steelheads sophomore Ryan McLeod provided Mississauga’s lone goal on the afternoon.

Ottawa Senators prospect Logan Brown led the way with a goal and three assists as the Windsor Spitfires roared past the visiting Flint Firebirds 6-1. Newcomer Jeremiah Addison scored twice and added an assist while rookies Cole Purboo and Tyler Angle each found the back of the net. Flint’s lone goal was provided by Luke Kirwan as Windsor controlled the shooting column 36-19. Michael DiPietro and Lucas Patton shared the load in goal for Windsor.
