OHL Power Rankings: Oct. 12, 2026
Who’s up:
Flint Firebirds – up one spot to #3 this week
Two wins, and a group of first-year contributors doing the heavy lifting. Flint opened the week with a 5-2 win over Kitchener on Wednesday in which Cooper Williams scored the first two goals of his OHL career and Nick Bogas added his first plus three assists for a four-point night, then went a perfect 3-for-3 on the power play to beat the 10th-ranked Sarnia Sting 6-4 on Saturday. Brady Smith scored twice on the man advantage in that one and Williams finished with a goal and two assists, while Mason Courville stopped 34 of 38. Martins Klaucans, Ryland Cunningham, Luka Graziano, Xavier Tessier and Jimmy Lombardi also found the scoresheet across the week. At 5-2-0-0 the Firebirds have won three in a row.
Ottawa 67’s – up two spots to #4 this week
Five of a possible six points on a three-game road trip, and the goaltending was the story. Jaeden Nelson stopped all 36 shots to blank the 12th-ranked Erie Otters 3-0 on Saturday, then turned aside 41 of 44 in Brantford on Sunday and won it in the shootout. Nic Whitehead scored the tying goal and the shootout winner against the fifth-ranked Bulldogs, with Spencer Bowes and Chase Yanni also scoring and Ondrej Ruml collecting two assists. The one blemish was a 2-1 overtime loss in Niagara on Thursday in which the Barber Poles held a 45-21 shot advantage and still came away with a single point. At 5-1-2-0 with a four-game point streak, Ottawa has taken points in seven of eight.
Kingston Frontenacs – up two spots to #7 this week
A perfect week on the road. Kingston swept through Barrie, Brampton and Brantford, beginning with a 7-4 win in Barrie in which Alex Misiak scored four goals and Andre Mondoux added two of his own from the blue line. Four different scorers did the work in a 4-2 win in Brampton behind 29 saves from Royden Smith, and Tomas Pobezal’s two goals and an assist finished off the fifth-ranked Bulldogs 4-2 on Saturday, with Misiak contributing a goal and two helpers. Matthew Minchak won twice, stopping 30 of 34 and then 24 shots. At 6-4-0-0 the club that had allowed the most goals in the league a week ago has won three straight.
Erie Otters – up three spots to #12 this week
The biggest riser of the week, Erie tied its Friday game in London with 3:53 remaining on Broden McArthur’s first OHL goal and won it in a shootout on Paul Schuster’s winner, outshooting the sixth-ranked Knights 39-31. The Otters were blanked 3-0 by Ottawa on Saturday, then collected their first home win of the season on Sunday, a 3-2 decision over Barrie in which they outshot the Colts 50-21 and Luka Arkko scored twice. David Egorov won twice, Michael Dec collected three points on the week, and Gairin Michalski scored the first of his OHL career. At 5-3-1-0 the Otters have won two of three and finally have a result in their own building.
North Bay Battalion – up two spots to #14 this week
One game, and the Troops made it count. North Bay handed the second-ranked Sudbury Wolves their first loss of the season on Thursday, tying it 3-3 with 20 seconds left in regulation on Shamar Moses’ goal and winning it with 15 seconds remaining in overtime through Arseny Pronin, who scored twice. Ryder Carey set up the winner and finished with a goal and an assist, while Mike McIvor made 20 saves as the Battalion outshot Sudbury 42-23. That snapped a four-game slide and moved North Bay to 3-5-0-0. A week after outshooting the opposition three nights running and losing all three, the Troops turned a 42-shot night into two points.
Niagara IceDogs – up one spot to #16 this week
Welcome to the Top-16. Niagara gets in on the back of a 2-0 week that began with one of the goaltending performances of the season, Vladislav Yermolenko stopping 44 shots in a 2-1 overtime win over the fourth-ranked Ottawa 67’s despite a 45-21 shot deficit. Jared Langdon scored with 50 seconds left in the extra period in that one, and Ryerson Edgar followed with a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win over Barrie, netting the winner with 6:26 remaining in the third. Joey Banas scored his first as an IceDog and Connor Haffner stopped 31 of 33. At 5-3-0-0 and 2-0 at home to open a three-game home stand, the club picked 19th in the preseason poll has knocked on this door for three weeks and now walks through it.
Who’s down:
Brantford Bulldogs – down two spots to #5 this week
One point from two home games, and the league’s best record takes its first real step back. Brantford was beaten 4-2 by the seventh-ranked Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday, with Camden McCuaig and Jack Torr scoring, then outshot Ottawa 44-20 on Sunday and still lost in a shootout. Sam Roberts scored his first two goals as a Bulldog in that one, which was worth a point and not much more. The power rankings are a fickle thing, and a two-spot drop here is about a quiet weekend at home rather than anything structural. At 7-2-0-1 with 15 points in 10 games, the Bulldogs remain the standard in the league on paper.
London Knights – down one spot to #6 this week
A single game, a single point, and a second straight loss at home. London was tied 3-3 with 3:53 left by Erie on Friday and fell in a shootout, with Eloan Le Gallic, Cohen Bidgood and Thomas Zocco scoring and Aleksei Medvedev making 36 saves against a 39-31 shot deficit. The Knights were idle the rest of the week, which is the whole reason this is a one-spot slide rather than more. At 4-1-0-1 London has still been beaten just once in regulation so far.
Soo Greyhounds – down one spot to #8 this week
A point in each game and still a small slide, which is what happens when a winning streak ends. The Hounds erased a 2-0 deficit against Kitchener on Friday with third-period goals from Brady Smith and Ryan Kaczynski, Kaczynski’s eighth, then won it 1:05 into overtime on Jakub Winkelhofer’s rebound while outshooting the Rangers 36-20. Saturday ended the run, as Peterborough tied it 16 seconds into the third and won 2-1 just 38 seconds into overtime to snap a five-game Soo winning streak. Smith scored the lone goal in front of 23 saves from William Camputaro. At 6-1-1-0 the Hounds are essentially where last week left them.
Saginaw Spirit – down one spot to #9 this week
A win in their only game, and Saginaw still slips behind clubs that played three. Braidy Wassilyn scored twice, including the game-winner, to beat the 13th-ranked Kitchener Rangers 4-2 on Saturday, extending his goal-scoring streak to seven games and taking sole possession of the OHL goal-scoring lead with nine. Dima Zhilkin finished with a goal and two assists, Brody Pepoy added a single, and Tyler Martiniuk collected two assists from the back end in front of 27 saves on 29 shots from Brady Knowling. At 3-2-2-0 the Spirit have taken points in five of seven, and they have the league’s hottest goal scorer going every night out.
Kitchener Rangers – down one spot to #13 this week
Four straight losses now, and this week’s three all came on the road. Kitchener was beaten 5-2 in Flint on Wednesday, then led the eighth-ranked Soo Greyhounds 2-0 before losing 3-2 in overtime on Friday, with Luca Romano and Luca Santala scoring and Jason Schaubel making 33 saves. Saturday in Saginaw was a 4-2 loss in which Cameron Arquette scored shorthanded and added an assist. The Rangers were outshot in all three games. At 4-5-1-0 the defending Memorial Cup champions are still searching for the level they finished last season at.
Owen Sound Attack – down two spots to #15 this week
Two games against the top-ranked team in the league, and two losses. Owen Sound trailed Guelph 3-0 before Ethan Kindree and Pierce Mbuyi made it 3-2 on Friday, then was part of a 10-goal second period on Saturday in a 10-5 defeat. Max Delisle was the bright spot in that one with two goals and an assist. The schedule handed the Attack the Storm twice in two nights, which is about the worst draw available this week. At 2-6-0-0 and minus-15, Owen Sound now heads out for four straight on the road.
Windsor Spitfires – down three spots and off the list this week
One home game, and it went badly. Windsor was beaten 5-1 by Oshawa on Saturday, with Bogdan Yakushevsky’s sixth of the season the only Spitfires goal and Ryan Hedley’s first OHL hat trick doing most of the damage at the other end. At 3-4-1-0 the Spits fall off the list a week after climbing onto it, with Niagara taking the final spot. A bad night costs more when it is the only night you play.
Holding steady:
Guelph Storm – holds at #1 this week
Six straight wins, and no reason to move. Guelph swept Owen Sound, winning 3-2 on Friday behind Owen Griffin’s goal and two assists and 31 saves from Zach Jovanovski, then burying the Attack 10-5 on Saturday in a game that featured a 10-goal second period. Vladimir Dravecky put up two goals and three assists from the blue line in that one, Ryan Roobroeck scored twice, Griffin added four assists, and the Storm went 3-for-6 on the power play while outshooting Owen Sound 46-34.
Sudbury Wolves – holds at #2 this week
Still unbeaten in regulation, which is why a first loss costs nothing. Sudbury surrendered the tying goal with 20 seconds left in North Bay on Thursday and lost 4-3 in overtime, then erased a 3-1 deficit against Peterborough on Friday with six unanswered goals and a 5-for-6 night on the power play. Jean-Cristoph Lemieux scored twice and added an assist, Kingston Harris scored his first OHL goal, and Paolo Frasca stopped 29 of 32 as the Wolves moved to 6-0-1-0 atop the Central Division.
Sarnia Sting – holds at #10 this week
A split, and the same spot. Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko posted his second consecutive 35-save shutout of Oshawa in a 4-0 win on Friday, with Simon Katolicky, Alessandro Di Iorio, Matthew Manza and Logan Hawery scoring. The shutout streak ended a minute into Saturday’s 6-4 loss in Flint, where Easton Walos scored twice and Parker Holmes and Tyler Challenger each added a goal and an assist, leaving Sarnia 5-3-1-0.
Peterborough Petes – holds at #11 this week
The best win of Peterborough’s season came in the week’s second game. After leading 3-1 and losing 7-3 in Sudbury on Friday, the Petes went into the Soo and snapped the Greyhounds’ five-game winning streak with a 2-1 overtime win, Leon Kolarik scoring 38 seconds into the extra period. Cooper Dennis tied it 16 seconds into the third and assisted on the winner, and Matthew Koprowski stopped 20 of 21 for his first win with Peterborough, which sits 3-6-0-0.
