OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior Hockey returns for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features Dallas Stars prospect Nicholas Caamano who is excited for his fourth OHL campaign following a career-best season in 2016-17 notching 35 goals and 29 assists for 64 points in 67 games for the Flint Firebirds who improved by 26 points in the standings.
The 19-year-old from Ancaster, Ont., has been a member of the organization since being chosen by the Plymouth Whalers in the second round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. Two years later he was a fifth round pick of the Stars in the 2016 NHL Draft, signed his entry-level contract with the club in April, then got his first taste of professional action suiting up for the AHL’s Texas Stars six times at the end of last season.
Caamano chats with Doyle about his experiences in the AHL and at NHL Training Camp this season, his excitement for a new year in Flint as one of the team’s leaders, and reflects on opening week action where the Firebirds got off to an impressive 2-0 start.
