OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Bauer continues for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features Ottawa Senators prospect Alex Formenton of the London Knights who represented Team OHL this week at the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series.
Formenton, an 18-year-old from King City, Ont., made his NHL debut this season with the Sens who selected him in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He played one game of pro before his reassignment to London where he has since produced six goals and 10 assists through 10 games. The forward was named Player of the Game for Team OHL despite a 5-2 loss to Russia in Owen Sound.
He chats with Doyle about his NHL experience in Ottawa, learning from and practicing with the pros, and returning to the OHL ready for a leadership role with the Knights who have been climbing the standings of late.
Also featured in this week’s segment of OHL News is Sarnia Sting co-owner and associate coach David Legwand who chats with Doyle about the CHL’s top ranked club who set a franchise record with 14-straight wins. The OHL graduate is in the midst of his first season behind the bench and shares his thoughts about the transition and what he enjoys most about his role.
