NOLAN BURKE (SARNIA STING):
Rookie forward Nolan Burke picked up his first career OHL goal on Sunday as his Sarnia Sting fell 7-5 to the Kingston Frontenacs. Burke’s first came with 7:41 remaining in the second period with assists from Ryan McGregor and Jacob Perreault to put the Sting ahead 4-3. Burke, who turned 16 on Sunday, is a product of Peterborough, Ont. and was Sarnia’s fourth round pick in 2018. In 20 games with the Pickering Panthers Jr. A club this season, Burke has three points (1-2–3).
ETHAN CARDWELL (SAGINAW SPIRIT):
Rookie forward Ethan Cardwell scored the game winner in a 5-3 Saginaw Spirit road win over the Erie Otters. Cardwell’s first came in his OHL debut with assists from Aidan Prueter and Albert Michnac 8:45 into the second period. The 16-year-old native of Courtice, Ont. has spent the season with the Trenton Golden Hawks Jr. A club, recording 17 points (5-12–17) over 24 games. Cardwell was Saginaw’s second round (33rd overall) pick this past spring from the Clarington Toros Minor Midgets.
