Generals’ Calum Ritchie returns from Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche announced Wednesday that 19-year-old centreman Calum Ritchie has been returned to the Oshawa Generals for the 2024-25 season. Ritchie skated in seven games with the Avs, recording his first career NHL goal on Oct. 14th against the New York Islanders.
Ritchie, who was selected by Colorado with the 27th overall pick of the 2023 NHL Draft, returns to a Generals team that is off to a 5-5-1-0 start to the season. The Oakville, Ont. native helped steer Oshawa to an Eastern Conference title last spring, recording 80 points (28-52–80) over 50 regular season games before adding 30 more (8-22–30) over 21 playoff contests.
The Generals selected Ritchie with the second overall pick of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection. He’s amassed 184 points (71-113–184) over 174 career regular season games.
The Generals are in Niagara on Thursday night to take on the IceDogs. They’ll be in Kingston on Friday to face the Frontenacs.
