Fibigr, Jiricek and Zidlicky to compete for Czechia at 2025 World Juniors
Three OHL players will compete for Czechia at the 2025 IIHF World Juniors getting underway on Boxing Day in Ottawa.
The Czechs have made the podium at each of the last two tournaments with a silver in 2023 and a bronze last year. The OHL trio of Brampton Steelheads teammates Jakub Fibigr (Seattle Kraken) and Adam Zidlicky join St. Louis Blues first round pick Adam Jiricek (Brantford Bulldogs) in trying to upgrade that to gold this year.
Czechia also features former Kitchener Rangers forward Eduard Sale, a first round pick of the Seattle Kraken who is currently playing for the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Czechia is in Group B with Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland, with their first action coming on Boxing Day against Switzerland at 5:00pm ET at TD Place.
