HISTORY
Ottawa, the capital of Canada, is known for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and vibrant community. Home to the Ottawa 67’s since their founding in 1967, the team has become a key part of the city’s sporting heritage. Over the years, the 67’s have been a consistent contender in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), solidifying their place as one of the league’s most respected organizations. The 67’s are three-time OHL champions and have played in the Memorial Cup five times, winning in 1984 and as the host team in 1999.
EDUCATION
Current Ottawa 67’s high school players attend Blyth Academy The Glebe in Ottawa. The team values academic success, with a strong commitment to balancing education and hockey. Additionally, Ottawa is home to several top-tier post-secondary institutions, including the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, providing excellent academic opportunities for players pursuing further education.

ARENA
TD Place Arena is a 9,500-seat multi-purpose venue located in Lansdowne Park, Ottawa. Home to the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Ottawa Charge of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), the arena blends modern amenities with a historic atmosphere, having first opened in 1967. Renovations have enhanced the fan experience while preserving its deep connection to Ottawa’s hockey history. Situated in the heart of the city, TD Place is part of a larger entertainment district featuring restaurants, shops, and event spaces, making it a central destination for sports and entertainment. BILLET LIFE
The Ottawa 67’s are supported by 15 dedicated billet families for the 2024-25 season. These families provide a safe and stable environment for the players, playing a vital role in the team’s success. Billet families are located in Ottawa’s Glebe, Westboro, Ottawa South, Stittsville, Barrhaven, and Orleans communities.
NOTABLE ALUMNI
The Ottawa 67’s have developed numerous notable alumni who have advanced to the NHL and other professional leagues. Some of the most well-known players include former CHL Player of the Year Bobby Smith, Sean Monahan, Logan Couture, Travis Konecny, former Red Tilson Trophy recipient Brian Campbell, and Marco Rossi, who also won the Red Tilson Trophy. These players highlight the strong development system within the 67’s organization.
TEAM EVENTS
The 67’s participate in a variety of team events throughout the season, fostering bonding and community engagement. The year kicks off with their annual Welcome Dinner, bringing players, staff, and billet families together. The team attends Ottawa REDBLACKS, Atlético Ottawa, and PWHL Ottawa games, supporting fellow local teams. While on the road, players have also taken part in pickleball outings, adding a fun and competitive element to their travels!
NOTABLE LANDMARKS
Ottawa boasts several iconic landmarks, including Parliament Hill, the heart of Canada’s democracy, where visitors can explore historic buildings and witness the daily Changing of the Guard ceremony. The Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers scenic views and transforms into the world’s largest skating rink each winter stretching 7.8km long. The Peace Tower, standing 92.2 meters tall, is a national symbol with breathtaking views from its observation deck. Just across the river, the Canadian Museum of History showcases Canada’s rich heritage.
FUN FACT
Every spring, Ottawa bursts into color with over one million tulips blooming for the Canadian Tulip Festival. The festival began in 1953 as a gift from the Netherlands to thank Canada for sheltering the Dutch royal family during World War II. During their exile, Princess Margriet was born in Ottawa in 1943, with her hospital room temporarily declared Dutch soil. Today, the festival is the largest tulip festival in the world, symbolizing the lasting friendship between the two nations.
