Bulldogs sign Ethan Chen

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO – Brantford Bulldogs President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Spencer Hyman has announced the signing of free agent forward Ethan Chen to an OHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.

Chen, of Paramus, NJ, arrived at Brantford Bulldogs training camp as a free agent invitee but has continued to earn himself opportunity at every step along the way. Spending the last three seasons at the legendary Shattuck St. Mary’s prep-school, Chen impressed at the U16 AAA level in the 2023-24 level posting 20 goals & 14 assists for 34 points in 53 games before breaking out at the U18 level. The 2024-25 season was a revelation for Chen, skating for Shattuck’s U18 AAA side, the 5’11”/175 right shot winger struck for 45 goals & added 51 assists for 96 points in 58 games adding another 8 points in 5 games at the U18 Nationals.

Chen graduated to play entirely with the Prep side at Shattuck in 2025-26 and adjusted his game to be a responsible and trusted two way player for the Saints while still chipping in on the offensive side. Scoring 9 goals and adding 12 assists for 21 points in 51 games in the league competition, Chen continued to shine as a two-way player in the High School Elite League with 3 goals & 3 assists for 6 points in 12 games and another 2 goals & 3 assists in 13 games in the cross border Prep Hockey Conference.

Chen is slated to begin the season with the Brantford Titans of the GOHL and will be available to the Bulldogs as an affiliate player.
