2024-25 CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: Week 13
Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 13 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.
With 26 wins and only two regulation losses over their last 29 games, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) continue to hold down the No. 1 spot, a position they have held since November 19. Trailing in second is the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who are amid an eight-game winning streak as they sit first in the QMJHL. Lastly, rounding out the top three are the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), who are riding a six-game point streak (4-0-1-1) as they hold a nine-point lead in the WHL.
Among the week’s biggest risers are the Kitchener Rangers and the Windsor Spitfires, who both play in the OHL. Having reeled off six victories in a row, the Rangers have moved up two spots to find themselves at a season-best No. 4 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings. Meanwhile, riding the longest active winning streak at eight victories in a row, the Spitfires are up to fifth and back in the top five for the first time since the beginning of November.
The next rankings will be released the week of January 13, following the 14th week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL.
CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 13
1. London Knights (OHL): Having won 26 of their last 29 games since October 20 and holding only two regulation losses over that stretch, the London Knights (30-6-1-0) are once again No. 1 in this week’s rankings. It is a position they have held onto since November 19. The Knights are the first team in the CHL to crack 30 wins this season. They have won five of their last six games (5-0-1-0) since December 17, winning all of these contests in the absence of San Jose Sharks prospect Sam Dickinson (15G-31A in 26 GP), Philadelphia Flyers prospect Oliver Bonk (6G-15A in 21 GP), Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan (15G-13A in 20 GP), San Jose Sharks prospect Kasper Halttunen (2G-4A in 9 GP), and New York Islanders prospect Jesse Nurmi (4G-12A in 28 GP) – who were all in Ottawa for the better part of the last two weeks representing their country at the 2025 World Juniors. In the absence of these stars, the Knights haven’t missed a beat thanks to the performances of Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey (5G-9A over last 6 GP), Ottawa Senators prospect Blake Montgomery (5G-8A over last 6 GP), and Edmonton Oilers prospect Sam O’Reilly (5G-7A over last 6 GP) who all averaged over two points per game over the Knights’ last six games. The newly-acquired Washington Capitals prospect and defenceman Cam Allen (9G-25A in 33 GP) also has registered a point in each of those six contests, his first six in London since being acquired from the Guelph Storm. This week, the Knights host the No. 5-ranked Spitfires on Friday night, before traveling to face the Attack in Owen Sound on Saturday. Fans can catch the top-five showdown between London and Windsor live for free across the OHL’s X, Facebook, and YouTube platforms along with OHL Live on CHL TV as part of the OHL’s #FridayNightFaceoff.
Games this week: vs. Windsor (Jan. 10), @ Owen Sound (Jan. 11)
2. Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL): As one of two teams in the CHL to have an active eight-game winning streak (along with the No. 5-ranked Windsor Spitfires), the Moncton Wildcats (29-5-2-0) continue to hold down second in this week’s rankings. The Wildcats have ranked among the top two teams in the CHL over nine of 13 weeks during the 2024-25 season. Since December 1, Moncton has allowed two goals or fewer in nine of 11 games. Going a little further back, the Wildcats also have just one regulation loss over their last 13 games (12-1-0-0). Since November 23, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Caleb Desnoyers (23G-28A in 31 GP) has been excellent, as he has amassed 22 points (9G-13A) in 12 games played, which places him second in scoring in the QMJHL over that stretch. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have been busy bolstering their lineup over the last week. On Monday, Moncton announced they acquired Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Dyllan Gill from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In order to add the 20-year-old Gill to their roster, the Wildcats parted ways with forward Yoan Loshing, who was acquired by the Shawinigan Cataractes on Sunday. Gill spent the first half of the 2024-25 season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch where he has four points (2G-2A) in 24 games. Moncton also made a move to add 20-year-old goaltender Mathis Rousseau (9-16-5-0 record, 3.16 GAA & .906 SV% in 30 GP) from the Halifax Mooseheads in exchange for their current netminder Jacob Steinman and three draft picks. Ranked second in Mooseheads’ franchise history with 93 career wins (trailing only Zach Fucale), Rousseau will come into the Wildcats’ lineup with some pedigree, having previously also played for Canada at the 2024 World Juniors. This week, as Rousseau and Gill get set to make their Wildcats debut, Moncton will travel west to face the Olympiques, the Huskies, and the Foreurs on the road.
Games this week: @ Gatineau (Jan. 9), @ Rouyn-Noranda (Jan. 11), @ Val-d’Or (Jan. 12)
3. Everett Silvertips (WHL): With points in six straight games (4-0-1-1) dating back to December 14, the Everett Silvertips (28-5-3-2) remain at No. 3 in this week’s rankings. Over the last two months, dating back to November 9, the Silvertips have just two regulation losses over their last 21 games (15-2-2-2). Their five regulation losses during the 2024-25 season continue to be the lowest among any CHL club alongside the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. Prior to being held pointless on Saturday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Victoria Royals, 15-year-old Landon DuPont (10G-31A in 34 GP) had strung together a seven-game point streak dating back to December 11 (5G-8A over that stretch). After missing some time with an upper-body injury prior to the holiday break, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Carter Bear (26G-28A in 31 GP) returned to the Everett lineup and picked up where he left off. Having played his first game back on December 27, Bear has registered a point in five straight games and scored a goal in four of those contests. By recording a point in each of those games since returning to the lineup, Bear is currently on a 14-game point streak, having collected 27 points (12G-15A) over that stretch. As of Wednesday (Jan. 8), Bear’s 14-game point streak is the third-longest active streak in the WHL. Meanwhile, the Silvertips are set to get another boost this week, as Seattle Kraken Julius Miettinen (10G-24A in 30 GP) returns to Everett after he along with six other CHL players helped Finland earn a silver medal at the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa. This week, the Silvertips will have a busy weekend as they play the Chiefs, Thunderbirds, and Americans over consecutive nights.
Games this week: vs. Spokane (Jan. 10), @ Seattle (Jan. 11), vs. Tri-City (Jan. 12)
4. Kitchener Rangers (OHL): With six straight victories, along with eight wins over their last 10 outings, the Kitchener Rangers (28-7-2-1) are up a couple of places in this week’s Top-10 rankings. Going back to November 23, Kitchener has been nearly perfect, winning 13 of 15 games over that stretch. The Rangers’ only two losses during that time have come away from Aud in Kitchener, where they have six in a row. Since the last CHL Top-10 Rankings were released on December 17, Kitchener has won six of seven. Both Chicago Blackhawks Jack Pridham (3G-4A over last 7 GP) and Ottawa Senators prospect Luke Ellinas (4G-3A over last 7 GP) have each averaged a point per game over that stretch of seven games. Meanwhile, 20-year-old goalie Jackson Parsons (23-6-1-0 record, 2.03 GAA, .928 SV% & 4 SO in 30 GP) continues to be excellent for the Rangers. Since coming back from the break on December 29, Parsons has posted a .920 save percentage in each of his last four starts along with allowing two goals or fewer. On Monday, Parsons was named the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the fourth time this season after he went 3-0-0-0 and held both a 1.30 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage in three starts last week. This week, the Rangers will face a tough three-game stretch as they take on the Porter Martone and the Brampton Steelheads, the No. 8-ranked Barrie Colts, and the defending Memorial Cup champion Saginaw Spirit all this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Brampton (Jan. 10), @ Barrie (Jan. 11), vs. Saginaw (Jan. 12)
5. Windsor Spitfires (OHL): As one of two teams in the CHL to have an active eight-game winning streak (along with the No. 2-ranked Moncton Wildcats), the Windsor Spitfires (29-7-2-1) have jumped up two places to reenter the top five for the first time since the beginning of November. The Spitfires are also the lone team in the OHL to have won nine of the last 10 games. They kickstarted their current winning streak by defeating the No.1-ranked Knights 3-2 right before the holiday break – which is one of just two regulation losses London has suffered since October 20. Windsor is also averaging 5.9 goals per game over this stretch of eight games. The latter can in part be explained by the performances from Los Angeles Kings prospect Liam Greentree (9G-9A over last 8 GP) and Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas (6G-10A over last 8 GP), as they both lead the OHL in scoring with 18 points and 16 points respectively over the course of the Spitfires’ current win streak. For his efforts over the last week, Greentree was named the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week as he amassed five goals, seven assists, and 12 points over four victories. Meanwhile, also on Monday, 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ethan Belchetz (12G-14A in 30 GP) was awarded the OHL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, as he recorded three goals, four assists, and seven points across those four Spitfires’ wins last week. This week, with first place in the OHL overall standing on the line, Windsor will travel to London to face the No.1-ranked Knights on Friday, before next heading to Flint to face the Firebirds. Fans can catch the top-five showdown between the Spitfires and Knights live for free across the OHL’s X, Facebook, and YouTube platforms along with OHL Live on CHL TV as part of the OHL’s #FridayNightFaceoff.
Games this week: @ London (Jan. 10), @ Flint (Jan. 11)
6. Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL): Having gone 2-2-1-0 over their last five games dating back to December 17, the Drummondville Voltigeurs (25-8-2-2) have slipped a couple of places to find themselves in sixth this week. It marks the first time since October 15 that the Voltigeurs find themselves outside the top five of the CHL Top-10 rankings. Specifically, in the absence of star forward Ethan Gauthier (13G-22A in 24 GP) and head coach Sylvain Favreau who were both away from the team representing Canada at the 2025 World Juniors, the Voltigeurs have lost four of their last six contests. Despite their recent struggles, 20-year-old forward Sam Oliver (32G-14A in 37 GP) has four goals over five games as he continues to lead both the QMJHL and CHL with 32 goals this season. The Voltigeurs were also busy during the QMJHL trade deadline bolstering their lineup as they aim to be the first team to repeat as QMJHL champions since the Saint John Sea Dogs achieved the feat in 2011-12. Specifically, Drummondville made a number of acquisitions over the last couple of days, including defenceman Samuel Kingsley (4G-7A in 36 GP) and forward Justin Larose (16G-21A in 37 GP) from the Victoriaville Tigres, along with Nathan Baril (10G-23A in 33 GP) from the Val-d’Or Foreurs. As they welcome back Gauthier and Favreau to the fold, along with their new players Larose and Baril who are set to make their Voltigeurs debut this week, Drummondville will head out to the Maritimes for games against the Sea Dogs, Mooseheads, and Eagles.
Games this week: @ Saint John (Jan. 8), @ Halifax (Jan. 9), @ Cape Breton (Jan. 11)
7. Rimouski Océanic (QMJHL): With a comparable 2-2-0-1 record to their QMJHL counterparts in Drummondville over the last couple of weeks, the Rimouski Océanic (24-10-0-2) also slipped two spots – falling to seventh in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings. Specifically, since returning from their holiday break, the Océanic have struggled as they have lost three of their last five, having given up 22 goals (4.4 goals per game) over that stretch. However, despite their recent shortcomings, the 2025 Memorial Cup hosts appear poised to bounce back from them this week. First, they will welcome the return of the QMJHL reigning MVP and Vegas Golden Knights prospect Mathieu Cataford (11G-27A in 27 GP), who returns to the team after he represented Canada at the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa. Speaking of the latter, Rimouski also made a splash on Monday by acquiring Washington Capitals forward Eriks Mateiko (14G-5A in 23 GP) from the Saint John Sea Dogs. Mateiko is coming fresh off his experience at the 2025 World Juniors, where he played a key role in leading Latvia on its magical run to the quarterfinals, having scored a team-high five goals in five tournament games. The addition of Mateiko comes on the heels of Rimouski adding QMJHL leading scorer Jonathan Fauchon (29G-32A in 36 GP) and former Victoriaville Tigers captain Maël Lavigne (12G-25A in 37 GP), along with forward Lou Lévesque (7G-9A in 35 GP), defenceman Jack Martin (5G-7A in 33 GP), and goaltender Mathis Langevin (4-5-0-0 record, 2.96 GAA, .905 SV% in 10 GP). This week, with their 2025 Memorial Cup roster now more or less intact, the Océanic will aim to bounce back from their recent struggles when they face the Armada and Titan this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Blainville-Boisbriand (Jan. 10), @ Acadie-Bathurst (Jan. 11)
8. Barrie Colts (OHL): With four wins over their last six outings since the last CHL Top-10 Rankings were released, the Barrie Colts (24-10-1-1) have climbed up a spot to a season-best eighth this week. Going back a little further, the Colts have six wins along with points in eight of their last 10 outings (6-2-1-1). They have also scored four goals or more in five of seven games dating back to December 14. In the absence of Utah Hockey Club prospect Cole Beaudoin (13G-16A in 24 GP), Edmonton Oilers prospect Beau Akey (4G-15A in 25 GP), and goaltender Sam Hillebrandt (12-7-0-1 record, 2.93 GAA, .903 SV% in 21 GP), who were representing their country at the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa, Edmonton Oilers prospect Dalyn Wakely (17G-17A in 28 GP) and Dallas Stars prospect Tristan Bertucci (5G-23A in 36 GP) stepped up. Wakely (4G-7A over last 6 GP) and Bertucci (3G-7A over last 6 GP) led the Colts in scoring over their last six outings, while Vancouver Canucks prospect Riley Patterson (17G-14A in 34 GP) leads the team with six goals over that stretch. Moreover, goaltender Ben Hrebik (12-3-1-0 record, 2.21 GAA, .936 SV% & 1 SO in 17 GP) has been excellent. For his efforts in December, the 18-year-old from Milton, Ont., was named the OHL Goaltender of the Month after posting a 6-1-0-1 record, a 2.13 goals-against average, a .943 save percentage, and a shutout last month. Meanwhile, already set to get some talent back following the conclusion of the 2025 World Juniors, the Colts acquired Vancouver Canucks prospect Anthony Romani (2G-3A in 6 GP) and Owen Van Steensel (13G-13A in 36 GP) via a trade with the North Bay Battalion. The move reunited Romani (who has been limited to 6 GP this season due to an injury) and Van Steensel with their former linemate Dalyn Wakely in Barrie, who together were a force, combining for a total of 301 points (138G-163A) for the Battalion in 2023-24. This week, Barrie will hit the road for games against the Attack and Petes, before returning home for a top-10 showdown against the No. 4-ranked Rangers this Saturday.
Games this week: @ Owen Sound (Jan. 8), @ Peterborough (Jan. 9), vs. Kitchener (Jan. 11)
9. Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL): With four wins over their last five outings since coming back from their holiday break, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (21-7-3-5) have climbed up one spot to ninth in this week’s rankings. Their one loss of the last two weeks, a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, marked the first time they have lost in regulation on home ice this season. Before last Friday, the Sags had impressively earned a point in their first 18 home games (13-0-2-3 to start the season) at Centre Georges-Vézina in 2024-25. Over their five games dating back to December 28, Anaheim Ducks prospect Maxim Massé (2G-3A over last 5 GP), 2025 NHL Draft prospect Émile Guité (3G-2A over last 5 GP), forward Félix Gagnon (2G-3A over last 5 GP), and defenceman Loïc Usereau (2G-3A over last 5 GP) are all averaging a point per game. Meanwhile, former Cape Breton Eagles forward Émile Ricard (one of five current Chicoutimi players to have been drafted within the first 12 picks of the 2023 QMJHL Draft), tallied his first goal as a member of the Saguéneens on New Year’s Eve as Ricard begins to settle in with his new team. Outside of Ricard, Chicoutimi didn’t make any other major acquisitions like some of their competitors in the QMJHL. Despite that fact, they are set to get a boost to their lineup this week with the return of Latvian defenceman Peteris Bulans (2G-14A in 29 GP). Bularis captained Team Latvia during its memorable run at the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa, the latter of which included a historic win over Canada in the preliminary round. This week, with Bularis back in the fold, the Saguenéens will welcome the Remparts to Centre Georges-Vézina, before heading out to face the Cataractes and the Phoenix this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Québec (Jan. 8), @ Shawinigan (Jan. 11), @ Sherbrooke (Jan. 12)
10. Spokane Chiefs (WHL): With four wins over the last seven games since the most recent CHL Top-10 Rankings from December 17, the Spokane Chiefs (26-13-0-0) have fallen a couple of spots to place tenth in this week’s rankings. In the absence of Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton (14G-33A in 28 GP) and Asanali Sarkenov (6G-11A in 23 GP), who represented Canada and Kazakhstan respectively the 2025 World Juniors, 2026 NHL Draft prospect Mathis Preston (12G-16A in 33 GP) stepped up. The 16-year-old from Penticton, B.C., is averaging a point per game over his last seven contests (1G-6A) dating back to December 17. Only Landon DuPont (5G-4A in 5 GP since Dec. 17) has more points than Preston among WHL rookie skaters over that stretch. Meanwhile, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Dawson Cowan (20-9-0-0 record, 2.79 GAA, .908 SV% & 3 SO in 30 GP) has been rock solid since coming back from the holiday break. In his four starts dating back to December 27, Cowan has three performances with 30-plus saves and earned three wins over that stretch. With wins in 12 of his last 15 starts, Cowan currently ranks first in the WHL with 20 victories on the year. He is also the lone goalie in the WHL to have recorded three shutouts in 2024-25. Plus, Cowan also ranks among the top five in goals-against average (2.79) and saves (816). This week, as Cowan and the Chiefs welcome back Catton and Sarkenov to the lineup, they’ll travel to Everett and Wenatchee to face the No. 3-ranked Silvertips and the Wild this weekend.
Games this week: @ Everett (Jan. 10), @ Wenatchee (Jan. 11)
