Michael Schumacher had a goal and two assists, as the Greyhounds topped the Spitfires 4-1 on Sunday night at the Essar Centre in Sault Ste Marie.
Brady Vail’s 13th of the season was the only goal for Windsor (14-15-1-5), which wrapped the pre-holiday portion of its schedule on a three-game losing streak.
Jared McCann’s 13th of the season was the winner for Sault Ste Marie (17-16-2-0), which moved into a second place tie in the West Division with the idle Plymouth Whalers.
Nick Cousins (15) and David Broll (11) had the other goals for the Greyhounds.
Nick Ebert’s assist on Vail’s goal was his 100th career OHL point.
Jaroslav Pavelka made 35 saves in the loss, while Matt Murray stopped 19 pucks in the victory.
The Spits next action is on December 27th in London.
