Rangers Players Recalled by NHL Clubs

Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Steve Spott announced Monday that several players have been recalled by their respective National Hockey League clubs.

Captain Ryan Murphy has been recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes. Selected by the Hurricanes in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Murphy made his debut with the team in February, appearing in four games as an emergency recall.

Winger Matt Puempel (Ottawa Senators) has been assigned to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. Puempel was the Senators first round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and made his AHL debut last season, appearing in nine games and recording his first goal.

Defenceman Frank Corrado (Vancouver Canucks) has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves (AHL). Corrado was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Canucks and made his debut with the Wolves at the end of the 2011-12 season, appearing in four regular season and two postseason games.

Forward Tobias Rieder will have his broken hand re-evaluated by the Phoenix Coyotes. The German import was originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, and had his rights traded to Phoenix in March of 2013.

Additionally, centre Radek Faksa is departing for Dallas on Tuesday morning. The Stars chose the Czech Republic native with the 13th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
