Pedersen Heading to Summer U-18 Selection Camp
Kitchener Rangers forward Brent Pedersen is one of 40 players traveling to Toronto on Friday, August 3 for the opening of Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp.
The selection camp runs from August 3-6 with hopefuls split into Red and White squads. The teams will take part in several practices and compete in intrasquad games on August 4, 5 and 6. All practices and games are open to the public free of charge. Please note that seating is limited.

At the conclusion of camp, 22 players will be selected to play for Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team. The team will compete at the 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament in the Czech Republic and Slovakia later this month. Canada has won the last four gold medals at the tournament, and seven of the last eight.
The Rangers’ first round pick in the 2011 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Pedersen appeared in 65 regular season games as a rookie, recording nine goals and five assists. The Arthur, ON-native was also a member of Team Ontario at the 2012 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
