Kitchener Rangers announce 2018-19 season schedule
The Ontario Hockey League today released the 2018-19 season schedule, which for the Kitchener Rangers opens with a meeting against the Flint Firebirds at The Aud on Friday, September 21 at 7:30pm.
The team will play a total of five Tuesdays, 22 Fridays and seven Sundays at The Aud to complete their 34-game home schedule.
Among the Rangers’ 34 home game dates, five special event nights have been announced. More will be finalized at a later date:
Oktoberfest Night: Friday, October 5 vs. Saginaw Spirit – 7:30pm
Remembrance Day Jersey Auction: Friday, November 9 vs. Sarnia Sting – 7:30pm
Teddy Bear Toss: Tuesday, December 11 vs. Oshawa Generals – 7pm
New Year’s Day: Tuesday, January 1 vs. Peterborough Petes – 2pm
Fan Appreciation Game: Friday, March 15 vs. Owen Sound Attack – 7:30pm
Also of note:
Final home game before holiday break: Tuesday, December 11 vs. Oshawa Generals – 7pm
First home game after holiday break: Friday, December 28 vs. Barrie Colts – 7:30pm
The Rangers busiest month of the season will be February, when they play 13 total games in 28 days. Their busiest months on home ice will be November and January when they play seven games in each.
The team’s longest span of consecutive home games comes January 11-25 (five games), while their longest consecutive span of road games occurs February 15-21 (four games).
Unlike last season when the Rangers met the Owen Sound Attack six times before December 28, the Blueshirts will play all eight games against their divisional rival after December 29.
Kitchener will play 11am games in both Erie (November 14) and Mississauga (February 27).
