Hunter Brzustewicz added to Calgary Wranglers Roster
Kitchener, ON – The Calgary Wranglers (Calgary Flames affiliate team) announced on Monday, April 22nd that they have signed Hunter Brzustewicz to an amateur tryout agreement.
Brzustewicz is the first player from the Kitchener Rangers to receive a call-up to the American Hockey League (AHL) entering the post-season. The defencemen signed a three-year entry level contract with the Calgary Flames on March 14th, 2024. Brzustewicz was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023 NHL Draft in the third round, 75th overall, before being acquired by Calgary on January 31st.
The 6-foot, right-shot defenceman was a standout for the Rangers this season both defensively and offensively. He tied the Rangers franchise record for most points by a defenceman in a single season with 92 points (13G, 79A) and finished second in the league amongst defenders in points. He put up a career-high points, goals, assists, power play goals (2), power play assists (22), and plus/minus (+31).
