Petes sweep 3 in 3 weekend with 4-2 win over Wolves
The Peterborough Petes ended a three games in three nights weekend with third win in three nights with a 4-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday night.
Matt Puempel opened the scoring with his team leading 11th goal of the season just 35 seconds into the game and Steven Trojanovic built a 2-0 lead at 11:13 of the first period before Nick Baptiste got the Wolves on the board at 14:47 to send the teams to the dressing room with the Petes leading 2-1.
Austin Watson built a 3-1 lead for the Petes with 8 seconds remaining in the second period, however, Andrey Kuchin again cut the Petes lead to a goal with 5 minutes remaining. Luke Hietkamp solidified the win for the Petes at 17:56 of the final period for his first of the season.
The are now on a 4 games winning streak and have earned points in their last 5 games. Next action for the Petes is Tuesday night when they host the Oshawa Generals at the PMC.
