Petes beat Majors 5-2

The Peterborough Petes skater to a 5-2 win over the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors for their 3rd win in a row.

The Majors opened the scoring 2:29 into the game on a goal by Riley Brace and held the lead into the second period when Slater Koekkoek recorded his 4th goal of the season at 1:38 of the second period.  Lino Martschini gave the Petes their first lead of the game at 14:57 however Derek Shoenmakers tied the game with just 15 seconds remaining in the second period.

Austin Watson restored the Petes lead with his second shorthanded goal of the season 3:13 into the third period and Peter Ceresnak increased the Petes lead to 4-2 before Matt Puempel scored his 10th of the season at 16:58 to make the final 5-2 to for the Petes.

Next action for the Petes is Saturday night in Sudbury before returning to home ice on Tuesday to host the Oshawa Generals.
