#1 Pittsburgh Penguins vs #4 New York Islanders (Adam Pelech)
Islanders win 4-2
After tying the series at 2, the Islanders went on to win two straight games to claim the series over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Adam Pelech could not find the score sheet through those 6 games. The New York Islanders move on to Round 2 where they face the Boston Bruins.
#1 Carolina Hurricanes vs #4 Nashville Predators (Warren Foegele)
Hurricanes win 4-2
After tying the series at 2, the Hurricanes went on to win two straight games to claim the series over the Nashville Predators. Warren Foegele tallied a goal in Game 2 and an assist in Game 3, giving him 2 points through the series. Warren Foegele and the Hurricanes face Anthony Cirelli, Erik Cernak and the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round 2.
#2 Florida Panthers vs #3 Tampa Bay Lightning (Mason Marchment, Erik Cernak, Anthony Cirelli)
Lightning win 4-2
After leading the series 3-1, Tampa Bay fell to the Florida Panthers 4-1 in Game 5 where Mason Marchment tallied a second goal for the series. The Lightning went on to defeat the Panthers 4-0 in Game 6 with the help of Erik Cernak as he added two assists to the score sheet. Marchment finished the regular season with two points and the post season with two points. Anthony Cirelli finished Round 1 with four points and Erik Cernak finished with three. The Tampa Bay Lightning move on to Round 2 where they face the Carolina Hurricanes.
#1 Colorado Avalanche vs #4 St. Louis Blues (Ryan O’Reilly)
Avalanche win 4-0
Colorado dominated the St. Louis Blues through 4 games as they were officially swept the first round series on Sunday. Ryan O’Reilly was able to assist a shorthanded goal in game 3. Ryan O’Reilly finished the regular season with 54 points and the post season with 3 points. The Avalanche will advance to Round 2 and face the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
#1 Toronto Maple Leafs vs #4 Montreal Canadiens (Travis Dermott)
Canadiens win 4-3
After Toronto was leading the series 3-1, the Montreal Canadiens went on to push the series to Game 7 where the Habs claimed the series from the Leafs. Travis Dermott finished the regular season with six points but was unfortunately unable to find the scoresheet this post season. The Montreal Canadiens face the Winnipeg Jets in Round 2.
#2 Edmonton Oilers vs #3 Winnipeg Jets (Connor McDavid)
Jets win 4-0
The Winnipeg Jets were victorious as they swept Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4. Connor McDavid finished out the regular season with one hundred and five points and finished the post season with four. Connor McDavid was also the winner of the prestigious Art Ross trophy. The Winnipeg Jets face the Montreal Canadiens in Round 2.
