HIGHLIGHTS | Knights vs Battalion | 1/30
LONDON, ON – BATTALION COME BACK TO DEFEAT KNIGHTS IN SHOOTOUT
The opening frame saw plenty back and forth from both teams, with North Bay having a goal overturned thanks to a London challenge for offside. Neither team managed to find the scoresheet after one.
North Bay opened the scoring in the second, as Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Kaden Pitre found the back of the net off the rush.
London responded immediately, with Jesse Nurmi scoring on a breakaway just 40 seconds later. The Knights weren’t done there, taking their first lead of the game off a point shot from Henry Brzustewicz.
With just 1:31 left in regulation, Battalion forward Sebastien Gervais tallied his 16th of the season, tying the game at 2-2 and sending the game to overtime.
Both goalies stood tall in the extra frame, and the game would need a shootout to decide the extra point.
London shooters Braidy Wassilyn and Ryan Brown were both unable to beat Jack Lisson, while Nick Wellenreiter and Kaden Pitre found the back of the net for the Battalion, earning North Bay the 3-2 victory.
The Knights are in action again tomorrow, Saturday, January 31st. Heading South of the border to take on the Erie Otters at 7:00pm.
