OHL Announces 2004-05 Schedule

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the schedule ofrgames for the 2004-05 season.r

rThe 2004-05 season kicks off on Thursday September 23 in Peterborough, where the Petes will host the Owen Sound Attack and the Windsor Spitfires will open the season against the Saginaw Spirit. The 682 game regular season concludes 178 days later on March 20.r

rThe Guelph Storm, who won the J. Ross Robertson Cup as 2004 OHLChampions, open the season on the road in Brampton on Friday September 24. They will host the Mississauga IceDogs in a rematch of the 2004 Direct Energy OHL Championship Series on December 28.r

rThe 2005 OHL Playoffs will open on March 24 and the 2005 OHL Champions, along with the champions from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Western Hockey League, will join the London Knights in the 2005rMasterCard Memorial Cup at the John Labatt Centre May 21-29.r

rThe Ontario Hockey League continues the tradition of being primarily a weekend league in order to accommodate the student athlete with 90% of games scheduled between Thursday and Sunday. Friday is the busiest nightrduring the season with 214 games scheduled.
