DOMI NAMED CAPTAIN
LONDON, ONTARIO: The London Knights Hockey Club announced today that the team has named veteran forward Max Domi as Captain of the 2014-2015 London Knights. Domi, 19, is in his fourth season in the Ontario Hockey League and is the longest serving London Knight on the current roster with 198 regular season games played for the green and gold.
Domi was an integral part of the Knights back to back OHL Championships and three straight Memorial Cup appearances. A first round draft pick of the Kingston Frontenacs in 2011, Domi has spent his entire OHL career with the Knights and currently leads the team with 18 points (3 goals, 15 assists) in 11 games played. A first round, 12th overall selection of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Domi takes over from outgoing captain and current San Jose Shark Chris Tierney.
The London Knights also named defenseman Dakota Mermis and forwards Matt Rupert and Michael McCarron as Alternate Captains for the team. As in the past, the players got to choose who they’d like to wear letters this season. The vote took place this afternoon.
