Knights Going for Series Sweep Tonight

LONDON, ON – On Tuesday night, the London Knights defeated the Flint Firebirds 4-3 in overtime to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in their first-round matchup. With a win tonight, the Knights would advance to round two.
Scouting the Knights (3-0-0)
In Game 2, Max McCue had a three-point outing on a goal and two assists. The Sudbury, Ont. product followed up that performance with another two helpers in Game 3. McCue leads the Knights with five points through three postseason contests. Kaleb Lawrence, Easton Cowan, and Denver Barkey have four points, while Kasper Halttunen, Oliver Bonk, Landon Sim, and Jacob Julien have three. Ruslan Gazizov, who suffered a lower-body injury against Windsor two weeks ago, will make his 2024 playoff debut tonight.

Know the Foe – Flint Firebirds (0-2-1)
Heading into the postseason, the Flint Firebirds were on a three-game losing skid and owned a 4-5-1-0 record in their last 10 matchups. Tristan Bertucci, who tallied 44 points as a defenceman in the regular season, has consecutive two-assist performances – Game 2 on Sunday and Game 3 on Tuesday. For much of the series, the Knights have done a fantastic job defending Flint’s two best players, Coulson Pitre and Oliver Peer. In Game 3, Pitre scored his second goal of the series and Peer recorded three points in Game 2.
