Roobroeck Scores Again, IceDogs Fall In Tight Battle to the Steelheads
MISSISSAUGA, ON – Ryan Roobroeck grabbed his 27th goal of the season, tying him atop the league lead in goals for a rookie, and Charlie Robertson made 40 saves in a tight battle against the Steelheads.

Starting Goaltenders: Charlie Robertson (Niagara) – Ryerson Leenders (Mississauga Steelheads)
It would be a slow start in Mississauga as both teams seemed to be feeling each other out for the opening 10 minutes, as not many scoring opportunities were being generated. However, the physical play would come into effect early as both teams number four defenceman’s, Connor Federkow and Stevie Leskovar, would make crushing hits at the blubeline on opposing forwards. As the period continued both teams began seeing some offensive opportunities. It would be Ryan Roobroeck and the IceDogs who would grab the opening goal, as he took the Kevin He pass and beat Ryerson Leenders over the right shoulder. This would be Roobroeck’s 27th of the season as he continues to extend his league lead in 2007 born rookie goals. Charlie Robertson would hold the Steelheads scoreless with 14 saves in the frame to help keep the IceDogs ahead going into the second.
It wouldn’t take long for the Steelheads to even this contest up as Lucas Karmiris would tap home the rebound just 19 seconds into the period. With the game now tied the Steelheads would pour on some shots in the opening half of the period, putting some pressure on the Charlie Robertson and the IceDogs. Robertson would stand up to the task, making some big saves throughout the period. Despite this, it would be the IceDogs to jump back in front after a Masen Wray pass found Mike Levin wide open in the slot. Levin would make no mistake, beating Leenders glove side for this 18th of the year. However, once again, the Steelheads would find an equalizer, this time only a few minutes later as William Eggleton tied things up. Robertson would continue to make big saves for the IceDogs as through two periods he had 29 saves to keep it a tie game.
With the game tied entering the final frame both teams came out flying looking to get the go ahead goal. The teams would trade scoring chances as both goalies were continuously tested all period long. Charlie Robertson would once again continue to make big save after big save as he provided some sensational work in the crease. With under 10 minutes to play the IceDogs would find themselves hemmed in the defensive zone and an innocent point shot would deflected in by William Eggleton as it trickled past Robertson and in. The goal would go under review for offside, but would stand. The IceDogs would get some opportunities late in the game with the net empty, but were unable to find a equalizing goal.
