IceDogs Sink Steelheads
Brampton, ON – The Niagara IceDogs kept on rolling Friday night, improving to (22-9-1-1) on the season, after a 6-4 win over the Brampton Steelheads.
The IceDogs once again struck gold early, with a goal by Mike Levin 2:10 into the first period. After a Steelheads goal to tie it up at one, Braidy Wassilyn and Mathieu Paris responded by scoring just 72 seconds apart to give the IceDogs a 3-1 lead.
The beginning of the second frame brought a charge from the Steelheads early on, with Brampton scoring to make it 3-2. However, the IceDogs responded with a beautiful passing play that was finished off by Andrei Loshko to restore the two-goal IceDogs lead headed into the third period.
The final frame was hard fought, beginning with Ethan Czata’s 15th tally of the season to make it 5-2 IceDogs. From there, Brampton scored two consecutive goals to make the score 5-4. However, Ryan Roobroeck slammed the door shut on Brampton’s comeback effort by potting the empty netter to seal the deal with a 6-4 IceDogs win.
The IceDogs now head into the holiday break on a seven game win streak, and will have a nice break prior to their next contest against the Flint Firebirds on December 28th at 7:00 pm.
