Gens look to bounce back in Nation’s Capital
OTTAWA, ON – The Oshawa Generals are on the road to take on the Ottawa 67’s Sunday night with puck drop at 7:00 PM.
The Gens are trying to bounce back from a tough 5-4 loss in overtime Friday night to the Kingston Frontenacs.
Ottawa is looking to extend their winning streak to four games after beating up on the Brampton Steelheads Friday night.
The Generals have taken on the 67’s once already this season, at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. In that early-season matchup, Ottawa beat the Generals 4-1, which would be the second loss of an eventual four-game losing streak for the Generals.
The player to watch for the Generals will be Mark Pape. The third line, specifically Pape and Aiden O’Donnell, were on fire against Kingston, combining for three of the four goals Oshawa scored.
Pape had two of the three as well as an assist on the first goal of the game. With the productive night, it pushed Pape’s stat line up to four goals and one assist for five points in nine games.
For the 67’s I’ll be watching Nic Whitehead. In the last meeting between these two teams, Whitehead recorded the opening goal of the game as well as an assist on the insurance goal.
Whitehead’s production has continued after that game, and he now sits with four goals and four assists for eight points in nine games.
This is back-to-back games on the road, but they’re heading back home on Sunday. The Generals will be taking on the Kitchener Rangers for our first Black and Gold Night of the season.
