Watch: Keyser Makes 38 saves as Firebirds Fall to #4 Kitchener

Flint, Mich. – The Rangers scored twice in the second period and recorded 40 shots on goal en route to a 2-0 victory over the Firebirds on Saturday night before more than 3,000 fans at the Dort Federal Event Center.
After a scoreless first period, Kitchener converted on the power play with 8:19 remaining in the second to earn the early lead. Brandon Robinson dished the puck to Dylan Di Perna at the left circle. Di Perna then walked to the dot and fired on net before Mason Kohn deflected the disc into the cage for his 15th of the season.
Brandon Robinson then scored the Rangers second goal of the evening at 16:09 gloveside past rookie netminder Kyle Keyser for Kitchener’s final tally of the night.
Despite hitting three posts in the contest, the Firebirds were unable to find twine past Kitchener’s Dawson Carty, who notched his first career OHL shutout.
Keyser earned third star honors after recording 38 saves on Kitchener’s 40 shots in his first game back since earning a victory over the Erie Otters on Nov. 22. The Rangers were 1-for-5 on the man-advantage and a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The Firebirds are back in action this Friday against the Kitchener Rangers again. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. (EST) at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium (capacity 7,131) in a game that will be televised live on Rogers TV channel 20 in Kitchener and across the province of Ontario on the OHL Action Pak on channel 465 for cable subscribers.
