Firebirds are Internationally Ranked 10th in CHL
Flint, Mich. – For just the second time in franchise history, the Firebirds are internationally ranked. The Firebirds are listed at #10 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, presented by Kia.
The Firebirds are a proud member of the 20-team Ontario Hockey League (OHL), which is one of three leagues that constitute the 60-team Canadian Hockey League (CHL) throughout Canada and the United States. Each Wednesday throughout the season, the CHL releases the “CHL Top-10 Rankings,” rating the top 10 teams throughout the entire CHL. The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s (CHL) Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
The Firebirds are in the midst of their winningest-season in franchise history and are currently on a franchise-record 13-game win streak and another franchise record of nine straight road wins. Flint is currently tied for first place in the OHL’s West Division.
The last time Flint was ranked was on Oct. 30, 2019 when the Firebirds were listed at #10, making an appearance for the first time in franchise history.
The Firebirds return back home this Saturday evening for the club’s United Auto Workers (UAW) / United Way Night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (ET) against the Kitchener Rangers at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Flint.
