Firebirds Crack Kia CHL Top 10 for First Time this Year, in at #10
Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds are ranked in the Kia CHL Top 10 for Week 17, coming in at #10. It is the first time this season the Firebirds have cracked the Top 10, previously being named an honorable mention twice. The full list of rankings is available at chl.ca.
Flint is coming off a week where they claimed six of a possible eights points. The Firebirds now have points in 16 of their last 18 games and are currently on a nine-game point streak. They sit 29-14-1-3 on the season and currently hold the top spots in both the Western Conference and the Western Division.
The Kia CHL Top 10 is a weekly ranking consisting of teams across the full 60-team Canadian Hockey League.
Next Up: Saturday, February 26th will be Flint Generals Night, sponsored by Lewis Tree Service when Flint takes on the Sarnia Sting at 7:00 p.m. The Firebirds will wear special throwback uniforms honoring the former team that used to call the Dort Financial Center (then Perani Arena and Event Center & IMA). There will be a postgame jersey auction to follow the conclusion of the game by Tim Narhi Auctioneer & Associates, LLC. Additionally, several Flint Generals Alumni will be in attendance for a pre-game Meet & Greet on the concourse. Sunday, February 27th will be Family ‘FUN’day when the Firebirds host the Erie Otters. Additionally, it is our “Talk Today” game sponsored by Genesee Health Systems and there will be tables set up around the concourse from local agencies bringing awareness to Mental Health & the services offered. Also, face painters and balloon twisters will be available on the concourse during the game. All purchased adult tickets are eligible to have up to TWO FREE kids tickets.
