In two preseason meetings this year, Flint and Saginaw each won as the visiting club. The ‘Birds claimed the first victory in Erie, Pa. by a score of 5-2 on September 17. Then Saginaw utilized an empty-net goal in the final minute to win the second and final exhibition tilt 7-5 at Flint Iceland Arena on October 3.
