Colts Trade Brassard to Oshawa
Barrie, ON– Barrie Colts General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford announced today that they have completed a trade with the Eastern Conference, Oshawa Generals.
The Colts acquire a 2nd round pick (Kingston’s) in 2017, a 3rd round pick (Sarnia’s) in 2018 and a Conditional 3rd Round pick in 2020 from the Generals in exchange for defenseman Matt Brassard.
Brassard, a Barrie native was the Colts 4th round pick (77th overall) in 2014. The 18 year old has played in two seasons with the Colts in a total of 57 games in the Ontario Hockey League tallying 6 goals and 12 assists and picking up 44 penalty minutes.
The Colts will look to ride the momentum off their win before the break against the 67’s by taking on the Niagara Ice Dogs tomorrow night at home. Niagara currently leads the season series against Barrie with a 2-0-0-1 record. Game time is 7:30pm.
