Kapageridis dealt to London
NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion has traded defenceman Jonathan Kapageridis to the London Knights, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Wednesday.
North Bay, which still has nine blueliners among 24 skaters on its roster, received London’s fourth-round pick in the 2029 OHL Priority Selection.
“With the home opener coming up, we still have a lot of bodies remaining, which is a major reason for this trade,” said Adam Dennis, director of hockey operations. “Jonathan has been a great member of the Battalion, and we wish him the best with his new opportunity in London.”
In 55 games last season, Kapageridis, who turned 19 on May 8, scored two goals and earned 16 assists for 18 points with 26 penalty minutes.
The Vaughan, Ont., resident was acquired in a trade with the Sarnia Sting on Jan. 9, 2025, after being Sarnia’s first-round choice, second overall, in the 2024 OHL U18 Priority Selection from the Don Mills Flyers U18s. In five games with the Battalion in 2024-25, he had one assist and two PiM.
Kapageridis, a left shot who measures six feet and 182 pounds, is committed to the University of Vermont for the 2027-28 season.
The Battalion opens the 68-game regular season when the Barrie Colts visit Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens at 7 p.m. Friday.
