Luch Aquino Named the CHL Player of the Week
Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Brampton Battalion forward Luch Aquino is the CHL Player of the Week.
Aquino scored four goals and 11 points in three games last week. Aquino started the week with a five-point game in a 5-2 win over the Peterborough Petes. Aquino added a goal and three assists in a 9-4 win over the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors and finished the week with a goal and two assists in a 6-5 win over the Oshawa Generals on New Year’s Eve.
Mark Fistric of the Vancouver Giants was the WHL Player of the Week after recording three goals and seven points while posting a plus seven ranking in five road games last week. Rane Carnegie of the Halifax Mooseheads was the QMJHL’s Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals and adding seven assists in three games last week. The QMJHL’s Defensive Player of the Week was Drummondville Voltigeurs defenceman Frederic St-Denis. St-Denis had a game winner and five assists while playing a strong defensive game for his club.
