Attendance peaks in several markets
BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, January 11, 2007 The most recent Quebec Major Junior Hockey League attendance report has been released and the statistics show that nine out of eighteen teams drew their largest crowds of the season during the holiday break: Quebec (15,181), Chicoutimi (4,724), Cape Breton (4,008), Lewiston (3,517), PEI (3,367), Acadie-Bathurst (3,212), Val-d’Or (2,903), Rouyn-Noranda (2,881) and Baie-Comeau (2,617).
After 360 regular season games, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is attracting an average of 3,438 fans per game a slight drop (2%) from last year’s figures.
Of note, the Quebec Remparts have drawn more than 10,000 fans on six different occasions and are on pace to break the single-season attendance record of 308,616 fans established by the 1971-72 edition of the Remparts.
