RECAP: Groulx scores lone goal in loss to Voltigeurs
DRUMMONDVILLE, QC – The Saint John Sea Dogs lost the second of their three-game Quebec road trip 4-1 to the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Friday night.
The Voltigeurs scored first at 4:30 when David Bosson lifted one high past Justin Robinson. On the man advantage at 8:05, Olivier Groulx tipped Everett Baldwin’s slapshot from just inside the blue line to tie the game 1-1. An unfortunate bounce off Max Vilen’s skate led to a goal by William Dumont for Drummondville. The Voltigeurs led 2-1 but trailed in shots to the Sea Dogs 12-11 after one.
Neither team was able to score during the second period where Justin Robinson stopped all 20 shots he faced. The shot count after two was 31-18 for the Voltigeurs.
Renaud Poulin netted an insurance goal at 9:26 in the third and Bosson scored his second of the night on an empty net at 18:43. The final score was 4-1 for the Voltigeurs.
