The sequence of defeats continues
The Gatineau Olympiques underwent an eighth loss in a row against the Victoriaville Tigres at the Desjardins Coisée yesterday evening. They lost by a score of 4 to 1. The last victory for the Olympiques goes back to February 15th whereas the Tigres have one 9 of their last 10 games.
The Olympiques were the first to score in the first period on shot that came from Dereck Sheppard (Courtemanche) with only a few seconds left in the period. A fight occurred in the middle of the period between Kelly Bent and Dominik Rehak
The Tigres tied the game on a power play in the first minute of the second period. The former Olympiques player, Philippe Halley ( Miceli & Sidlik) scored against Robert Steeves. The second period ended with a tied score of 1-1.
Victoriaville after that took control of the game in the third period by scoring 3 goals. Angelo Miceli, Philippe Halley and Luke St-Amand completed the score.
Robert Steeves was on duty for the Olympiques. He faced 24 shots and stopped 20 of them. Jonathan Wilson on his part stopped 23 of the 24 shots directed towards him.
The Olympiques will complete their home games in the regular season this weekend when Vald d’Or and Chicoutimi will be the visitors on Friday at 7h30 and Saturday at 7h00.
