Benoit Desrosiers named Gatineau Olympiques head coach
GATINEAU – Gatineau Olympiques General Manager Serge Beausoleil announced Monday the nomination of Benoit Desrosiers as the organization’s new head coach. The agreement is for three seasons.
“We are very pleased to welcome Benoit to the Olympiques organization,” said Beausoleil. “Not only do we add an excellent hockey brain, but in Benoit we bring a winner and a great human being.”
Desrosiers, who is 34, has worked as an assistant coach in the Cecchini circuit for over a decade with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, the Sherbrooke Phoenix and the Québec Remparts. The St-Joseph- du-Lac native won the Gilles Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup with the Remparts in the 2022-2023 season.
Benoit Desrosiers will address the media on Thursday, July 6 at 11 a.m., along with Chairman of the Board François Beaudry and General Manager Serge Beausoleil.
