Maxime Joyal in charge of 2023 draft
GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques organization announced Friday that the management of hockey operations for the 2023 QMJHL draft will be in the hands of Maxime Joyal.
This decision comes as interim general manager Jean-François Fortin has withdrawn from the list of candidates for the position of general manager.
“Maxime has been with our organization for three years as Hockey Operations Advisor. He has worked closely with the hockey department on all transactions and draft selections over the past three seasons. In fact, he has been busy preparing for the 2023 draft for several months.
Joyal will be assisted by consultant Jacques Leblanc and Olympiques shareholder Derick Brassard.
The team also confirms that all the scouts, led by Patrick Desrosiers, will remain in place. They will all be in Sherbrooke on June 10 for the draft.
Finally, the hiring process for the position of General Manager is still underway. The Board of Directors continues to interview potential candidates.
