Videotron Player of the Week | Quinn Kennedy
The first Videotron Player of the Week for the 2026-27 QMJHL season is Halifax Mooseheads forward Quinn Kennedy. In a pair of games, the 20-year-old from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia scored three goals and added five assists as the Mooseheads earned three of four points to start the season.
On Friday night in Sydney, Kennedy opened the scoring on the Mooseheads’ campaign, chipped in with three more assists in regulation, then capped the night off with a goal in the shootout as Halifax spoiled the home opener of their provincial rivals with a 5-4 triumph over the Cape Breton Eagles. For his efforts, the fifth-year veteran was named the second star of the game.
On Saturday night, the Mooseheads celebrated their 33rd home opener and Kennedy put on a show for his hometown crowd, scoring twice and adding a pair of assists. In the end, it would play a major part in the team claiming another point in the standings as the Moncton Wildcats emerged with a 6-5 overtime victory. Despite the loss, Kennedy would take home first star honors for the contest.
Kennedy is gunning for a fourth straight 20-goal season after potting a career-best 31 in 2025-26. Acquired by the Mooseheads from the Rimouski Oceanic partway through the 2024-25 campaign, Kennedy enters the second week of action with 161 regular season points in 218 career games.
