How do the Islanders stack up: A Look at the Numbers
So, the rosters are set and we’re ready for the remainder of the 2016/17 regular season, which will be immediately followed by the playoffs.
As we skim through the new rosters, some looking quite different than in the first half, what team made the biggest moves? Who’s set up for the playoffs? What team has the most experience? Where do the Islanders stack up?
Well, let’s take a look.
Most regular season games played
We’ll start with games played in the regular season. Of course, these games have been played with several different teams throughout the league. But when the team comes together, who has the most experience in games.
Charlottetown leads this category with 2929 games played collectively. Saint John is second with 2909, followed by Victoriaville with 2788.
Drummondville has the least games played with 1137. Moncton is not far ahead (or behind) with 1290.
Most playoff games played
Now regular season is one thing, but what about when the playoffs start. Who has the most experience in the big show?
Shawinigan leads this category with 379 playoff games played collectively. Saint John (367) and Rouyn Noranda (349) aren’t far behind, followed by Charlottetown.
Okay with experience out the door, let’s look at the collective scoresheet for each team’s current roster:
