Donovan and Nelson added to Canada’s 2024 World Juniors roster
Brantford Bulldogs defenceman Jorian Donovan (OTT) and North Bay Battalion blueliner Ty Nelson (SEA) have been added to Canada’s 2024 World Juniors roster.
Donovan was selected to Canada’s pre-tournament camp Friday but will now officially compete at the tournament.
In a corresponding move, Hockey Canada announced Saturday that two d-men will miss out through injury in Gatineau’s Tristan Luneau (ANA) and Saskatoon’s Tanner Molendyk (NSH).
In his third OHL season, Donovan has eight goals and 26 points in 31 games with Brantford. In 2021-22, Donovan was part of the Bulldogs’ roster that won an OHL championship.
Nelson has 12 goals and 31 points this year from North Bay’s blue line. Last season, Nelson finished third in OHL blueliner scoring with 76 points while his 24 goals were tied for the league lead. In the postseason, he added 25 points, the most among OHL d-men.
Canada opens its 2024 World Juniors campaign Boxing Day against Finland.
