Wheat Kings Eclipse 3,000 Mark in Season Tickets
Brandon, Manitoba – With the club’s 2009 Training Camp just days away, the Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that they have eclipsed the 3,000 mark in Season Tickets for the 2009-10 campaign.
r
As of Wednesday, August 19th, the WHL club had sold 3,045 season tickets, up from last year’s franchise record 2,780.
r
Those fans that have purchased 2009-10 Season Tickets will now have until October 15th to purchase their 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup ticket package.
r
Because the club must provide the Canadian Hockey League with 1,800 seats for this prestigious event, only the first 3,302 season ticket holders will be guaranteed their seat for the Championship, scheduled for Brandon’s Keystone Centre May 14th – 23rd.
r
Of the 3,045 season tickets sold so far, close to six hundred have been purchased by new season ticket holders.
r
To order 2009-10 Season Tickets, which remain the lowest in the WHL at $325 for adults and $175 for youth (18 and under), fans are encouraged to visit the Wheat Kings’ office or call 726-3535. For more information on seat availability, visit the club’s official web site located at www.wheatkings.com
r
In addition to Season Tickets, the hockey club is again offering a 36-game Exchange Coupon package for $399.
r
For the first time in history, the Wheat Kings have earned the right to play host to the MasterCard Memorial Cup. This will mark the first time that Manitoba has hosted the National Championship and it also comes during the province’s 140th Anniversary Celebrations.
r
2010 will mark the Wheat Kings’ fifth Memorial Cup appearance, having competed for the title in 1949, 1979, 1995 and 1996.
