HAWKS, GIANTS DOMINATE EVERETT TOURNAMENT – The Portland Winter Hawks and Vancouver Giants both went undefeated during the six-team pre-season tournament in Everett, Washington on the Labor Day weekend.

rThe Hawks and Giants each won all three of their games at the tournament, which also included the hosts Silvertips, the Seattle Thunderbirds, the Spokane Chiefs, and the Kamloops Blazers.
r
rSpokane managed two wins and a loss while the Silvertips won once and dropped a pair of decisions. The Blazers and the Thunderbirds each finished the tournament with three losses.
r
rThe WHL exhibition schedule resumes Tuesday night with the Calgary Hitmen hooking up with Central division rivals Red Deer Rebels in Airdrie, AB.

rTanner Irwin, Kalvin Sagert and Marc Connors scored for the Blazers in a third-period comeback while Kurt Kramer made 29 saves in the defeat.
