Former AJHL President Passes Away
Former AJHL President Mr. Marty Knack of Edmonton, Alberta passed away earlier this week doing what he loved, riding his new bike along the City of Edmonton trail system.

rThe 62-year-old Knack was the President of the AJHL from 1993-98, and then he was the President of the Canadian Junior âA’ Hockey League until the time of his passing.

rMarty was a very respected and dedicated volunteer. He had a wonderful passion for the game of hockey. His years of contributions to our organization, and to the game of hockey were many, and he will be greatly missed by all.

r”Marty played a major role in the promotion of Junior A hockey not only in Alberta but across Canada for many players. Our sincere condolences are extended to the Knack family,” stated Ron Robison, Commissioner, Western Hockey League.

rMarty’s funeral will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2005 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 10127-145 Street (Stony Plain Road), Edmonton, Alberta.
