WHL PLAYOFFS SUNDAY RECAP – Eric Fehr netted two goals and an assist to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors in game two of their East division first-round match-up on Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg.

rDerek LeBlanc, Jakub Sindel and Ryan Reaves also tallied for Brandon while Tyler Plante made 20 saves for the victory. With the victory, Brandon takes a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

rBlair Jones scored the lone goal for the Warriors while Josh Lepp stopped 35 shots in the defeat. The Warriors, down 0-2 in the series, host games three on Wednesday night in Moose Jaw.

rElsewhere on Sunday, Ashton Rome scored twice and set up another to lead the visiting Red Deer Rebels to a 4-3 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers in game two of their Central division first-round match-up.

rJoel Henituik and Tyler Johnson also tallied for the Rebels while Chris Neiszner added three assists in the win. The Rebels’ victory evens up the best-of seven series at 1-1. The series heads to Red Deer for game three on Tuesday night.

rDerek Dorsett scored a pair of goals for the Tigers while Jarret Lukin also scored in the loss. The Tigers went 0-for-6 on the power play in Sunday’s loss.

rIn other action on Easter Sunday, Alex Leavitt netted the winner as the visiting Everett Silvertips got by the Portland Winter Hawks 2-1 in game two of their U.S. division first-round series.

rShaun Heshka also scored for the Silvertips while Mike Wall turned in a solid 32-save performance to hold on for the victory. With the win, Everett evens up the best-of-seven series at 1-1. The ‘Tips host game three of the series on Tuesday night in Everett.

rBrandon Dubinsky‘s second-period shorthanded marker was the lone Winter Hawks goal. Blake Grenier made 21 saves in the defeat.
