WHL TUESDAY NIGHT RECAP – Kris Hogg scored the winner with three minutes remaining in the third period to lift the Kamloops Blazers to a 4-3 win over the visiting Spokane Chiefs in one of three Western Hockey League contests on Tuesday night.

rBryan Kauk and Raymond Macias each tallied a goal and an assist for the Blazers while Devan Dubnyk made 35 saves for the victory. The win improves the Blazers to 19-27-4-2 and leaves them only two points behind Prince George for fourth in the B.C. division.

rGary Gladue scored once and added an assist for the Chiefs while Kyle Howarth and Dan Mercer also tallied in the loss. The defeat leaves the Chiefs at 17-23-8-1 but they remain one point ahead of Tri-Cities for fourth in the U.S. division.

rElsewhere on Tuesday night, Brad Erickson tallied a shorthanded marker and added an assist as his Prince Albert Raiders beat the visiting Regina Pats 5-1.

rMike Hellyer also netted a goal and an assist for the Raiders while Rejean Beauchemin stopped 17 of 18 shots he faced. The win improves the Raiders to 21-25-4-2 and keeps them comfortably in third place in the East division.

rLogan Pyett scored the lone goal for the Pats. The loss extends Regina’s winless skid to 12 games and leaves them at 11-35-3-4 and fourth in the East division.

rIn other action, Jeremy Schenderling scored the game-winner as the Swift Current Broncos downed the visiting Prince George Cougars 2-1 last night.

rLuke Hunter tallied a goal and an assist for the Broncos and Kyle Moir turned in a 33-save performance in the victory. The win improves the Broncos to 18-26-6-1 but they remain fifth in the Central division – 17 points behind fourth-placed Red Deer.

rColin Patterson scored the lone goal for the Cougars while Real Cyr turned aside 33 shots in a losing effort. The loss drops the Cougars to 21-28-3-1 and leaves them only two points up on Kamloops for fourth in the B.C. division.
