TUESDAY’S WHL MATCH-UPS – The Kamloops Blazers (18-27-4-2) host the Spokane Chiefs (17-22-8-1) in one of three Western Hockey League contests on Tuesday night.

rThe Chiefs, who currently occupy fourth spot in the U.S. division, are coming off Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Blazers in Spokane and are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. The Chiefs are 6-15-1 away from home this season.

rThe Blazers, who sit fifth in the B.C. division, are winless in three straight contests, including Saturday’s defeat in Spokane. The Blazers are two games above .500 at home, with a 13-11-2 record this season.

rIt’s the fourth meeting of the season between the teams. Kamloops holds a 2-1 edge through the first three encounters with the Chiefs.

rElsewhere tonight, the Prince Albert Raiders (20-25-4-2) welcome the Regina Pats (11-34-3-4) in an East division battle.

rThe Raiders, who occupy third in the East division, are coming off Sunday’s 4-2 loss to Moose Jaw and are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Raiders’ power play has been solid at home this season, clicking at 20.0 per cent.

rThe Pats, who sit fourth in the East division, are coming off Sunday’s 3-2 loss in Swift Current and are winless in 11 straight contests. The Pats own the league’s last-ranked penalty-killing unit and have allowed a league-high 66 power play goals against this season.

rIt’s the seventh meeting of the season between the teams. The Raiders have a 3-2-1 edge in the series through the first six meetings.

rIn other action, the Prince George Cougars (21-27-3-1) continue their Central division road swing as they visit the Swift Current Broncos (17-26-6-1) tonight.

rThe Cougars, who sit fourth in the B.C. division, are coming off Sunday’s 4-3 win in Medicine Hat that snapped a four-game losing skid. The Cougars’ power play has managed just 11 goals on the road this season.

rIt’s the second meeting of the season between the teams. The Cougars won the first meeting with a 2-0 shutout in Swift Current in November.

rMatej Trojovsky of the Prince George Cougars has been suspended for one game for receiving a major and game misconduct at Medicine Hat on January 30th.

rBrent Parker, General Manager of the Regina Pats, has been fined $1000.00 for comments he made to the media following the Pats’ game in Prince Albert on January 28th.
